<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a conventional protector of an escalator tends to cause an accident such as collision of a human body because of difficulty of presence recognition of the protector due to a simple shape and being a combination of a transparent plate body and cylindrical body, and the conventional protector of the escalator has a problem of bonding strength such that the plate body is easily broken (damaged) and the cylindrical body is separated to fall.SOLUTION: A protector 3 of an escalator includes a substantially triangular plate body 3C of a few millimeters thickness as a main component and is provided in a wedge-shaped space Q formed between an outer edge of a handrail 1B and a solid body 2 such as a building ceiling that is adjacent to the handrail 1B so as to have a horizontal gap m between the handrail 1B and the solid body 2. Material of the plate body 3C is a transparent plate of a polyethylene terephthalate resin. A front edge body 3D made of transparent resin and whose thickness is a few millimeters same as the plate body 3C and width is a few centimeters is provided at a front edge part of the plate body 3C so as to be along an overall height of the plate body 3C and be closely in contact with both side surfaces of the plate body 3C. The protector 3 is integrated with the plate body 3C and the front edge body 3D by a screw fastening structure penetrating three layers of the protector 3, the plate body 3C, and the front edge body 3D.</p> |
