摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, capable of increasing battery capacity per unit volume while maintaining excellent discharge characteristics, cycle characteristics or the like of a lithium ion secondary battery, and a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery obtained by the method.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material contained in an electrode paste comprises lithium transition metal oxide powder coated with a carbon coat layer having a surface with a thickness of 1.0-50 nm. The electrode paste contains a binding agent other than the positive electrode active material. A mass ratio (positive electrode active material:binding agent) between the positive electrode active material and the binding agent which are contained in the electrode paste is in a range of 99.5:0.5-90:10. The electrode paste is prepared without being added with a conductive assistant, and, after the electrode paste is coated on a collector to be dried, is subjected to rolling at a pressure of 10-1,000 kg/cm in linear pressure by roll press.
