When the endoscope is inserted into a next examinee without being washed or sterilized thoroughly after endoscopy, the examinee may swallow the saliva or blood of a previous endoscopy examinee or a bacterial secretion which we did not know existed, thereby being extremely unpleasant in hygiene and causing a risk of cross-infection. According to the present invention, the difference between a sanitary processing apparatus for an endoscope insertion tube and an existing endoscope washer/sterilizer is to fundamentally isolate the surface of the endoscope insertion tube from secretion such as the saliva or bacterial blood of an endoscopy examinee by simply covering the surface of the endoscope insertion tube with a protective cover made of a very thin impervious plastic material before endoscopy and by inserting the endoscope insertion tube into the human body. The present invention cannot require a process of washing and sterilizing saliva or secretion on the endoscope insertion tube after endoscopy to significantly reduce processing costs and time required for washing and sterilizing this, thereby being extremely economical. Furthermore, the present invention enables people to basically escape from doubts about undependable and incomplete washing and sterilizing that is a major social problem as reported in the media until now such that all people can participate in endoscopy with faith to receive an advanced medical treatment, thereby contributing to public health. |
