PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film having excellent hydrolysis resistance and film-forming properties, specifically suitable for a solar cell backside sealing film. SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented polyester film for sealing a solar cell backside is a film comprising a polyester in which 0.5-2.0 mol% of a diol component is 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 dl/g or more, has a terminal carboxyl group of 26 equivalents/ton or less, and contains a titanium element, an element selected from among group 2 elements of the periodic table and a phosphorus element in the polyester film.
