Disclosed is a secondary battery which effectively prevents the leakage of an electrolyte received in a battery can and saves costs and manufacturing time by simplifying a manufacturing process. A secondary battery according to the present invention includes a wound electrode assembly in which a positive plate and a negative plate are arranged and wound across a separator; a gel-type electrolyte which is arranged between the positive plate and the negative plate; a battery can which has no beading part and receives the electrode assembly and the electrolyte; and a cap assembly which is combined with the opening terminal of the battery can.
