The present invention relates to a composition comprising Gracilaria chorda extract as an active ingredient for treating, alleviating, or preventing obesity. The Gracilaria chorda extract, which is the active ingredient of the present invention, inhibits differentiation of preadipocytes (3T3-L1), proliferation of adipocytes, and accumulation of fat metabolites, thereby having excellent effects for treating, alleviating, and preventing obesity. Further, the extract has no cytotoxicity and side effects, since the extract is derived from natural products, thuscan be widely used for treating, alleviating, or preventing obesity. |
