<p>In a method for operating an internal combustion engine (1), at least one turbine (3) is allocated to the internal combustion engine (1). Gas exhausted from the internal combustion engine (1) may be supplied to the turbine to expand the exhaust gas. In this case, obtained energy is used to drive at least one compressor (2) or at least one generator. At least one catalyst converter (6) is allocated to the internal consumption engine (1). The exhaust gas expanded in a turbine or each turbine (3) may be supplied to the catalyst converter (6) to clean the exhaust gas. In order to ensure rapid heating process of a catalyst converter or the catalyst converter (6), an adjustment variable for controlling a weight gate and/or an adjustment variable for controlling a turbine structure of a turbine of each turbine (3) are determined depending on a preset temperature value (T-SOLL10) with respect to a temperature of the exhaust gas before one or each turbine (3).</p> |
