A device (20a-20m, figure 2) for providing an electrical connection to a battery assembly 10, the battery assembly 10 including a battery 12. The battery 12 has positive and negative terminals. The device further includes: an electrically conductive part (22a, figure 2) which connects to one of the positive and negative terminals; and a thermally conductive part (24a, figure 2) which connects to the electrically conductive part and is arranged to remove heat away therefrom. The assembly may contain more than one battery and have first and second electrically conductive parts. A releasable connection may be used between the battery housing and the base assembly. The electrically conductive part of the assembly may also be releasably connected to the battery. The device may also perform the functions of a bus bar and a heat sink. A member (40, figure 2) may include a passage(s) (43, figure 2) through which the electrically conductive part(s) (22a-m, figure 2) extends. |
