A heat exchanger (1) having a core (2) comprising a plurality of flat tubes (3), that have first and second ends tightly connected to elongated header plates (4, 5) of metal of a first and a second collecting tank (6, 7), respectively. In order to enable tight connection of said flat tubes (3) to said header plates (4, 5) these comprise oblong apertures (12) fitting said ends of the flat tubes (3) and having a major axis essentially aligned with a transverse axis of said header plates (4, 5). Each oblong aperture (12) comprises a collar (13) protruding from the respective header plate (4, 5) on a core side thereof and completely rimming a tube (3) inserted therein, wherein at least a part of a short side of said collar (13) internally is aligned with an inner side of a continuous longitudinal flange (10, 11) of the respective header plate (4, 5) on a tank side thereof. |
