PURPOSE: An alkoxy phenyl propenone derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is provided to enhance the absorption of a drug (anticancer agent) for oral administration and anticancer effect, thereby having excellent effect using a low dose of a drug. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing multiple drug resistance contains an alkoxy phenyl propenone derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition suppresses the activation of P-glycoprotein which causes multiple drug resistance. The multiple drugs are anticancer drugs. A pharmaceutical composition for an anticancer aid contains the alkoxy phenyl propenone derivative of chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.
