An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of transmitting a digital broadcast, which includes: a step of multiplexing video data, audio data, and auxiliary data including an event information table (EIT) and a program map table (PMT) into a moving picture encoding group-2 transport stream (MPEG-2 TS), wherein, the EIT or the PMT contains a caption descriptor including caption information, and the caption descriptor includes the caption information representing whether caption data contained in the video data are used to provide a digital closed caption service according to electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or an analog closed caption service; and a step of modulating the multiplexed MPEG-2 TS into a broadcast signal to be transmitted. |
