Optimising the shape of a shaped charge liner

A shaped charge liner 280 includes an apex end 230 and a base end 240 and defining a main liner axis 220 that passes through the apex 230 and base ends 240, the liner 280 being rotationally symmetric about the main liner axis wherein the liner has discrete rotational symmetry about the main liner axis, such as in a star shape. Also claimed is a method of optimising a shaped charge liner design by selecting a desired hole shape by means of comparing to a library of known liner designs and a method of generating a library of shaped charge liners comprising modelling liner performance in relation to various environmental conditions and adding the modelled liner data to a library.
