Tissue harvesting

The present disclosure relates to a tissue collection apparatus. The tissue collection apparatus comprises a housing defining an inlet and an outlet, a first filter disposed within the housing, a second filter disposed within the housing, the second filter configured to isolate tissue particles of a desired size that pass through the first filter under the application of an aspiration force applied through the housing. A method of harvesting tissue is also disclosed.

1. An apparatus for tissue collection comprising:
a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a port located between the inlet and the outlet; a first filter disposed within the housing; a second filter disposed within the housing, the second filter configured to isolate tissue particles of a desired size that pass through the first filter under the application of an aspiration force applied through the housing, wherein the first and second filters disposed within the housing define an interior space within the housing, the port in fluid communication with the interior space, the port including two open ends and coupled to the housing such that a direction of fluid flowing between the open ends is perpendicular to a direction of the aspiration of the tissue through the housing, and wherein the first filter comprises a plurality of pores having a pore size of 0.6 mm to 2.4 mm and the second filter comprises a plurality of pores having a pore size of 0.5 mm to about 50 μm.
