Games, and methods for improved game play in games of chance and games of skill

A variety of games and methods for enhancing game play are provided. In one aspect, a secondary or ancillary game is played in parallel with a first game, such as a lottery ball draw. Yet another embodiment of game play provides for the repurposing of an existing taped game show. The previously recorded game show would be segmented into subsets of issues, for example, presentation of questions or answers (as in the case of Jeopardy), those issues would be presented to one or more players, a response would be received from those players, and the answer would be compared to the correct answer. Scoring would then rank players relative to one another or to indicate the amount of the prize.

forming subsets of existing previously recorded video game show content, displaying on the one or more interactive video displays the multiple options of the subsets of existing previously recorded video game show content to a first set of game show participants over the computer network, soliciting opinion polling information from the first set of game show participants, receiving response data via the interactive video display and communicating the results over the computer network to provide a first set of input data, processing the first set of input data for ranking the solicited opinion polling information to provide a set of predetermined data, the predetermined data including an indication of the most popular response from the first set of game show participants, storing the ranked data, presenting over the computer network via the interactive video displays the issue to one or more players who are not in the first set of game show participants, the issue including an indication of which of the predetermined data is not the most popular response from the first set of game show participants, receiving over the computer network a response input via the interactive video display from the one or more players, comparing the response to the correct answer to isolate a subset of responses, scoring the answer as positive if the response is other than the most popular response from the first set of game show participants, and negative if it is the same as the most popular response from the first set of game show participants, and cumulating the number of negative events for each player, comparing the cumulated number with a predefined number greater than one, and terminating game slay as to a player if the cumulated number equals the predefined number.
