detecting, by a base station, uplink interference in a first portion of a received uplink transmission of a user equipment (UE); and noise padding a second portion of the received uplink transmission to reduce interference variation between the first portion and the second portion based on the detected uplink interference and based on at least one of a frequency domain partition, whether a subframe is protected, and user equipment type, wherein the second portion of the received uplink transmission is different than the first portion of the received uplink transmission. |
