The present invention relates to a method and a device of synthesizing high purity silicon carbide powder and to a method and a device using reaction between a porous carbon material and a vaporized silicon source. The present invention provides a silicon carbide powder preparing device comprising a crucible with a leakage channel; a porous carbon material surrounding the outer surface of the crucible; a reaction chamber surrounding the outer surface of the porous carbon material; and a heating means disposed on the outer side of the reaction chamber.
