Multi-platform image processing framework

A method for compiling image processing instructions is described. The method receives multiple image processing instruction sets. The method, for each received image processing instruction set, produces several image processing instruction sets, where two different produced image processing instruction sets that are associated with a same received image processing instruction set are for processing by at least two different processing units.

1. A non-transitory machine readable medium storing a program which when executed by at least one processor assigns a set of image processing instructions to one of a plurality of renderers for execution, the computer program comprising:
a set of instructions for retrieving the set of image processing instructions from a storage queue; a set of instructions for determining a particular condition in order to select one of a plurality of different renderers for assignment; a set of instructions for translating the set of image processing instructions so that each instruction in the set is executable by the selected renderer; and a set of instructions for sending the translated set of image processing instructions to the selected renderer for execution.
