The present invention relates to a cover, an electronic device using the cover, and an operation method thereof. An operation method of the electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: connecting the cover; determining the type of the cover; and setting an interface corresponding to the type of the cover. The step of connecting the cover includes a step of recognizing the cover when the status of a signal which is periodically checked is changed after mounting the cover.
