The present invention relates to the structure of an ultraviolet reactor to sterilize ballast water with ultraviolet rays in a ballast water treatment system, and the ultraviolet reactor allows the simplification of the installation structure of a seawater pipe line and also improves the characteristics of seawater flow. According to the present invention, the ultraviolet reactor for the ballast water treatment system comprises: a body (200) in a form of a hollow rectangular pillar, which has both longitudinal side end portions opened and is linearly and longitudinally extended without change in the width and length of the cross section of an internal passage (201); a plurality of ultraviolet lamps (500) installed on the middle portion of the body (200) to pass across the body (200) widthwise; a seawater inflow pipe (300) arranged on one longitudinal side end portion of the body (200) in a direction parallel to the widthwise direction of the body (200); and a seawater outflow pipe (400) arranged on the other longitudinal side end portion of the body (200) on the opposite side of the seawater inflow pipe (300) in a direction parallel to the widthwise direction of the body (200).
