The present invention relates to a driving device for a road wheel having a stationary housing (1). In the stationary housing, a differential housing (3) which can be rotated and driven, having an axle differential gear, is mounted by differential bearings (2) to be rotated, two driving shafts (4) can be rotated and driven by the differential bearing, and one driving gear wheel (5) is arranged on each driving shaft and cannot be rotated. The driving gear wheels (5) are engaged by oppositely directed helical teeth with output gear wheels (7) for driving road wheels of the vehicle and generate axial forces directed toward the center of the axle differential gear unit. The axial forces are in turn supported at a structural component part of the driving device. An axial bearing device is axially supported with respect to the driving shaft (4) at a radial supporting surface (17) of the differential housing (3) or a component fixedly coupled to the differential housing (3). |
