The method involves providing a container (10) having a set of side walls (11, 14) defining an internal space to receive contents. A pallet element (40) is placed in an internal space in a low position of the container to support the contents. The pallet element is moved with respect to the container to traverse the internal space along the side walls as filling till the low position. The pallet element is moved by elevator units arranged to support the pallet element. The elevator units include a plate element e.g. maintenance plate, to support the pallet element. An independent claim is also included for a system for filling a set of rigid or semi-rigid material package.
