A disclosed electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided with a separating member mounted on a development cartridge. The separating member is provided with a developing nip separation unit and a charge nip separation unit which separate a developing nip and a charge nip respectively when the development cartridge is mounted to a mounting portion of a photosensitive cartridge mounted on a body.
