The present invention relates to a power generating elevator including a permanent magnet balance weight. The power generating elevator including a permanent magnet balance weight comprises: a cage installed in a hoistway of a building to be vertically moved in order to transport a passenger or a cargo; a driving unit which vertically moves the cage along the hoistway; a control unit controlling the driving unit; and a power generating unit which includes a magnetic force generating unit generating an induced electromotive force when the cage installed in the hoistway moves vertically. The driving unit includes: a main guide rail which is vertically installed to guide a movement route of the cage and supports the cage; a wire rope which has one end connected to the cage; a permanent magnet balance weight which has a permanent magnet connected with the other end of the wire rope to move in a direction opposite to the movement direction of the cage; a sub-guide rail which is separated from the main guide rail at a predetermined distance to guide the movement route of the permanent magnet balance weight, is vertically installed, and supports the permanent magnet balance weight; and a winding part winding the wire rope to vertically move the cage. |
