#CMT# #/CMT# Adhesive comprises a protein and an oligoester obtained by esterification of glycerol and citric acid. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is included for preparing a particle board, comprising (a) mixing particles and adhesive and (b) applying a pressure of 2-200 bars, preferably 5 bars at a temperature of 100-300[deg] C, preferably 180[deg] C for 1 second to 15 minutes, preferably 12-15 minutes on the mixture to obtain the particle board, where the water is optionally added before the step (a) and/or between the step (a) and the step (b). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The adhesive is useful in the preparation of a particle board of a furniture and for gluing two materials (all claimed), where the furniture includes an office furniture. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The adhesive has low volatile organic compounds thus minimizing harmful impacts on the environments and on the health of the users, and improves mechanical properties of the particle board. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The adhesive comprises water. A molar ratio of citric acid and glycerol is 1/1 to 10/1, preferably 2/1. The protein is a vegetable protein, preferably protein of soy, pea and potato. The particles comprise cellulose, preferably particles of wood, canola, flax and/or hemp. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The oligoester has a repeating unit of formula (-C(=O)-CH 2-C[(OH)(COOH)]-CH 2-C(=O)-O-CH 2-CH(OH)-CH 2-O-) (I), and a degree of polymerization of 1-10. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# 300 g of Glycerol, 1376.7 g of citric acid and 210 ml of water were mixed at 150[deg] C for 4 hours, 8 hours, 18 hours or 20 hours to obtain oligoester. 10 mass% of Water was added to the mixture in order to fluidize. 10 mass% of Protein of soy was added in the mixture and then homogeneously mixed to obtain the adhesive. |
