The device (1) has three jaws arranged to form a tubular passage for receiving a sailing rope (2) around a main axis. The jaws are movable between an open position in which the jaws have a maximum spacing, and a closed position in which the jaws have a minimum spacing. The jaws are movable in translation, where a spring is intended to bring back the jaws to the closed position. A hollow body (10) tapering inwardly from front to back is provided for radial guiding of the jaws, and slides are provided for lateral guidance of the jaws. An independent claim is also included for a blocking system for a rope.
