<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition comprising a useful compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to various infectious diseases which inhibits a prolyl hydroxylase in order to stabilize hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)-1αand HIF-2α.SOLUTION: A compound having the formula: where Z is phenyl substituted with from 1 to 5 halogens chosen from F and Cl; Ris C-Clinear alkyl or C-Cbranched alkyl; and which is effective against diseases caused by pathogens selected from bacteria, viruses, yeast, fungi, or parasites.</p> |
