PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and silently restart an engine during inertia rotation in an engine automatic stop/start system, while suppressing impact shock in engagement of a pinion gear and a ring gear even under large rotational fluctuation of the engine.SOLUTION: A controller (10) executes determination of engagement permission and determination of engagement prohibition on the basis of an engine rotating speed, while considering switching between permission and prohibition of engagement of a starter during reduction of engine rotation, and processing cycle, and a result of the determination of the engagement prohibition has priority when the result of the determination of engagement permission is permission, and the result of the determination of the engagement prohibition is prohibition. |
