摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter having efficiency higher than before.SOLUTION: A superconducting power converter comprises two semi-elements comprising switching means for performing switching so that at least one of a plurality of superconducting elements arranged in parallel is in a superconducting state and at least one of the remaining superconducting elements is in a non-superconducting state. A load is connected between the first and second semi-elements, and power supply voltage is applied between respectively shared terminals of the first and second semi-elements, where a value of resistance in a non-superconducting state of each of the plurality of superconducting elements is set so as to be higher than a value of resistance of the load. Performing the switching at timing determined depending on a combination of a type of the power supply voltage and a type of current to be extracted makes it possible to selectively execute either of conversion from DC to AC, conversion from AC to DC, phase conversion, or frequency conversion while making the way of connecting the load to the first and second semi-elements be the same.</p>
