This half-bridge circuit passes electric current from a second terminal to a third terminal or from the third terminal to the second terminal according to the polarity of the voltage between the second terminal and the third terminal when the voltage between the first terminal and the third terminal, or the voltage between the first terminal and the second terminal, is at or above a threshold voltage. When electric current is passed from the third terminal to the second terminal, the voltage between the second terminal and the third terminal varies in relation to the applied voltage between the first terminal and the third terminal, within a range in which the voltage between the first terminal and the third terminal is equal to or less than the threshold voltage. The applied voltage for turning off a switch element is set by switching between substantially zero voltage between the first terminal and the third terminal and a negative bias voltage. The voltage applied between the first terminal and the third terminal in order to turn off the first switch element is switched to substantially zero voltage before turning off a second switch element. |
