The device (10) has a gear box (11) e.g. planetary gear, for adjusting a phase position of a cam shaft (12) of an internal combustion engine relative to a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine. The gear box comprises first and second partial gear boxes (13, 14) i.e. gear transmissions, which are provided for a simultaneous and parallel power transmission. The partial gear boxes comprise gear wheels (15, 16, 17, 18) i.e. planetary wheels, which are formed analogous to one another. The gear wheels are rotatably mounted in a mounted state.
