The desk has a working face plate (1) mounted at an upper end of a vertically oriented column. A foot (3) is attached at a bottom portion of the vertically oriented column, where the foot is protruded with respect to an axis of the column. The plate is extended relative to the column. The column comprises a telescopic-shaped closed frame (2) that is extended along vertical struts (5), where the vertical struts are spaced to each other. The plate and the foot are pivoted about a horizontal axis and lockably connected to the column. The plate is pivoted along direction of the foot. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for utilizing a standing desk (2) a method for folding up a standing desk.
