PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a nonaqueous secondary battery which suppresses an increase in the negative electrode resistance, improves initial charge/discharge efficiency and gas generation suppressing effect, and is excellent in cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: The active material for a nonaqueous secondary battery negative electrode includes an active material (A) capable of inserting and desorbing lithium ion and an organic compound (B) including a basic group, a group having a lithium ion coordination, and a specific structure (S).
