PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upgrading method and device capable of reducing the delay in signal processing time and/or observing a waveform of biological information detected by a sensor by a monitor body.SOLUTION: An upgrading method includes: a step for installing software for processing a signal from an upgrading device 5 in a monitor body; a step for connecting the upgrading device between a biological signal processing device and the monitor body; a step for analyzing and calculating digital data and/or analog data received from the biological signal processing device to acquire second measured value data and a second biological signal waveform corresponding to the second measured value data in the upgrading device 5; a step for transmitting the second measured value data and the second biological signal waveform corresponding to the second measured value data to the monitor body as an analog signal; and a step for displaying at least one of the second measured value or the second biological signal waveform in the monitor body.
