[Problem] To provide an electrolytic copper foil having high mechanical strength under normal conditions, and resistant to thermal deterioration even when heated to about 300ºC. [Solution] An electrolytic copper foil containing a metal that exists in the form of an oxide in a liquid at pH 4 or below, or an oxide thereof, and containing chlorine at a level of more than 10 ppm but less than 50 ppm; and a method for producing the same.
