PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nanostructured microelectrodes and biosensing devices incorporating the same.SOLUTION: Nanostructured microelectrodes and biosensing devices incorporating the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the invention features nanostructured microelectrodes (NMEs). NMEs are electrodes which are nanotextured and thus have an increased surface area. In another aspect, the invention features an NME associated with a probe. In a further aspect, the invention features a plurality of NMEs arrayed on a substrate.
