PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of displaying a cross-sectional image of a three-dimensional object as an aerial image.SOLUTION: A movable aerial image display device X includes: a real mirror image forming optical system 2 capable of forming an image of a real image P of an object to be projected at a plane symmetrical position with respect to an element plane S as a symmetry plane; a frame 4 which is movably disposed at the upper face side of the element plane S; a detection unit 5 that detects a piece of frame information which is a piece of information on a relative position and an angle of the frame 4 with respect to the element plane S; a display 3 disposed at the lower face side of the element plane S having a display plane 3a for displaying an image O of the object to be projected; and a control unit 6 that control the display 3 based on the frame information detected by the detection unit 5 so that the display plane 3a is positioned at a plane symmetrical position with the frame 4 with respect to the element plane S. The image O can be formed within the frame 4 as an aerial image P by changing the image displayed on the display plane 3a to a different portion of the three-dimensional object while synchronizing with the movement of the display 3 by the control unit 6.
