PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-infrared absorbing composition which can maintain high near infrared shieldability when a cured membrane is used, and contains a copper complex excellent in solubility in a solvent.SOLUTION: A near-infrared absorbing composition contains: a phosphate diester copper complex obtained by reacting a compound (A) represented by a formula (I) below or salt thereof and a compound (B) represented by a formula (II) or salt thereof with a copper component; and a solvent.
