A storage device for which a HDD and a PCIe-connected SSD are employed as storage media, wherein the sto rage device has, as a means for avoiding the complications encountered in se lecting a removal method while considering the type of a drive inserted into a drive slot because the HDD and the PCIe-connection SSD require differe nt removal methods, an LED for indicating whether the HDD or the PCIe-connected SSD inserted into the slot of a drive enclosure is removable or not. When the HDD is inserted into the drive slot, the LED indicates that the HDD is removable if power supply to the HDD is stopped; when the PCIe-connected SSD is inserted into the drive slot, the LED indicates that the SSD is removable if a Downstream Port Containment (DPC) is started in the downstream port of a PCIe switch to which the SSD is connected. |
