The method involves showing the street lighting by several street lamps (1) with the lighting portion (6), and adjusting the heights of the street lamps. The street lamps are also horizontally-or two-dimensionally adjusted in position. The variation of the position of the lighting portion within the street lamp is performed to vary the shape and the intensity of the illumination. The light profiles are recorded for stationary or variable time-varying ambient conditions or by simulated models and are stored as set values.
