The method involves capturing an image i.e. infrared image, by an infrared sensor (1). Temperature distribution within the image is determined by using the sensor. Position for receiving the image is determined by using a moving unit i.e. mirror. Information of the sensor is evaluated by using a computing device (2) i.e. personal computer. The moving unit and an air conditioning apparatus (3) are controlled by the computing device. Position for receiving and recording another image is determined such that the previously captured image is overlapped in a fraction of the latter image. An independent claim is also included for a device for acquiring and processing an image to control an air conditioning apparatus in a vehicle.
