<p>The swimming equipment comprises a rigid support for a flipper or fin which is arranged partly along the leg, on the rear of the leg, at least in the region of the shin, and partly on the side of the sole of the foot and is attached by both of said parts to the leg in the region of the shin and foot, as well as a flipper or fin connected to said rigid support. The support makes it possible to make units used for connecting said support to the flipper or the fin comfortable and reliable both during swimming and during walking. The swimming equipment, which is designed to be monolithic with variable rigidity, comprises: elastic parts for wrapping around the shin and the foot, a rigid framework which is arranged at the rear of the leg, in the region of the shin and the foot, and on the side of the sole of the foot, and a flipper. All of the above-mentioned equipment allows any reasonable position of the flipper, including "parallel to the shin", without loading. If one were to exclude the effects which are dependent on the rigidity and shape of the flipper and on the type of unit used for connecting the flipper, that is under otherwise equivalent conditions, the effectiveness of all of said equipment is the same for swimming: increased speed of advancement of the swimmer, and the absence of any pain in the foot or the ankle.</p> |
