PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the presence of a complex of a first agent and a second agent in a solution, and a method for qualitative or quantitative detection of an analyte in a complexed biological sample or a specific binding partner of the analyte.SOLUTION: There is provided an algorithm that uses schematic speed change in a selected wavelength in an optical absorption spectrum of a colloidal analyte labeled with metal or its specific binding partner, in order to confirm intermolecular interaction between the analyte and the binding partner.
