The present embodiments provide for methods of treating elevated intraocular pressure or glaucoma using a sustained release medicament consisting of prostaglandin in benzyl benzoate that is injected intraocularly no more frequently than once every two months.

A method of treating elevated intraocular pressure or glaucoma in a subject in need of such treatment comprising administering by intraocular injection into the vitreous or anterior chamber a unit dose of 5 μL to 60 μL, inclusive, of a formulation consisting of about 0.1% to 5% prostaglandin in benzyl benzoate (w/w), inclusive, no more frequently than once every two months.
