The present invention relates to the technical field of communication network, and discloses a method and device for waking an inactive link that can, according to the actual load of a network, automatically wake an inactive link, thereby reducing the manual maintenance cost. In the embodiments of the present invention, a first router receives a first LSP message transmitted by a management router, the first LSP message including a first TLV used for determining the inactive link to be awaken; the first router determines the inactive link to be awaken according to the first TLV; the first router wakes the inactive link. The solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention can be applied to waking inactive links. |
