Embodiments relate to a network topology analyzer (20) for providing information on a topology of a communication network (32), comprising a network input interface (22) operable to receive topological network information related to a characteristic of a communication within the communication network (32). A user input interface (24) is operable to receive a user preference information, the user preference information being indicative of a topology representation requested by the user and an analyzer (26) operable to provide the information on the topology of the network, the analyzer (26) being operable to process the topological network information based on the user preference information.
