The method involves determining a path between a current position of a mobile unit (1) and a position of the last electrical charging process of the mobile unit. The determined path is compared with multiple stored path lengths between positions of successive electrical charging processes. The probability of impending path length is determined until reaching the position of the nearest electrical charging process based on the comparison result using the probabilities assigned to the stored path lengths. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for determining the probability of an impending path length to reach a position of next electrical charging process of a partially electrically driven mobile unit; and (2) a mobile unit.
