METHOD FOR VERIFYING A CONSUMER'S IDENTITY WITHIN A CONSUMER/MERCHANT TRANSACTION

1. A method for verifying a consumer's identity in connection with a transaction involving a consumer and a merchant, the method comprising:
receiving a user-identifier from a user; receiving a unique device identifier from an electronic device associated with the user; receiving a plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers from the electronic device of the user, wherein the plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers are associated with features of the electronic device that include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a GPS system, a proximity meter, a light sensor, a camera, and a flash; associating the user-identifier and the unique device identifier of the user to a user account at least one of:
residing on a secured transaction server; andaccessible to a secured transaction server,wherein the secured transaction server is not operated by the merchant and includes an identity verification agent; receiving, at the secured transaction server, a consumer identity verification request, from
an electronic device operated by the consumer,wherein the electronic device of the consumer is communicatively coupled, over a network, to the secured transaction server; receiving a unique device identifier associated with the electronic device of the consumer at the secured transaction server; comparing, through the identity verification agent, the user's unique device identifier and the consumer's unique device identifier to determine at least one of:
a positive user-identity verification; anda failed user-identity verification; and receiving a plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers from a mobile device of the consumer, wherein the plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers are associated with features of the mobile device that include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a GPS system, a proximity meter, a light sensor, a camera, and a flash; comparing, through the identity verification agent, the user's plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers and the consumer's plurality of mobile-device-component identifiers to determine at least one of a positive secondary user-identity verification and a failed secondary user-identity verification; communicating to the merchant the at least one of the positive user-identity verification and the failed user-identity verification for a user-identity-verification indicator.
