The present invention relates to a cosmetic method for treating and/or preventing greasy skin or greasiness-prone skin and/or the associated cutaneous aesthetic defects, comprising the topical application to the skin of a composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one compound of formula (I):;;in which:
R represents a hydrogen atom or a saturated or unsaturated and linear or branched C1-C6 hydrocarbon radical;R′ represents a saturated or unsaturated and linear or branched C1-C18 hydrocarbon radical, optionally substituted by a hydroxyl group;C—X represents C═O or CH—OH.
