摘要 A bioactive glass scaffold treated to modify the surface of the bioactive glass scaffold for regenerating new bone tissue is disclosed. In some embodiments, the bioactive glass scaffold may include pores in a grid-like structure to promote the ingrowth of bone tissue, and the modified surface layer may include a hydroxyapatite-like surface. The bioactive glass scaffold is inexpensive and easy to fabricate and regenerates new bone faster than the existing synthetic implants. The bioactive glass scaffold may be loaded with a biomolecule, such as BMP-2, for delivery to the implantation site.
