<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus useful in printing which utilizes induction heating of a fixing member.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 200 useful in printing includes a pressure roll 210 as a first member comprising an outer surface 216 as a first surface; a fixing roll 220 as a second member which comprises at least one ferromagnetic material having a relative magnetic permeability greater than 1, a susceptor located over the at least one ferromagnetic material and comprising at least one electrically resistive metal, and an outer surface 232 as a second surface located over the at least one ferromagnetic material and the susceptor and forming a nip with the first surface at which media are received; and a magnetic field generator 240 for generating a magnetic field to inductively heat the second member.</p> |
